Well all the phones I've had so far were Tracfone, my newest is a Net10. I previously had an LG 400g that was able to transfer pictures, polyphonic ringtones, and .jar apps through BT. (It didn't take video or support mp3/tones). The Samsung? can transfer pictures, videos, and music (mp3 and tones). It will transfer the .jar apps but won't run them like the old one for some reason... I think Tracfone/Net10 are lightening up on the connectivity (the web supports so much more now also)

But I've actually been using Net10 for a few months and I wouldn't say that it's perfect, I think the internet it offers is a lot slower than what you find out there and I HATED customer service. But I gotta say the signal strength on? the ATT and Verizon towers is really worth it, not to mention its only 50 bucks.

This is an excellent basic phone. I had one for a long time. You can get a Net 10 prepaid unlimited plan, which means that you can call as much as you like. IF you don't need to call as much you can n buy a cheaper Net? 10 plan. There is no way that anyone should be on a contract. They are a rip off.

Prepaid really seems to be on the rise. If the reception/coverage is good then there really isn't anything to stick with a contract for. With Straight Talk prepaid there are super cheap phones for under $20 and then from thern on if you go with the unlimited? deal it is $45 a month for unlimited texts, minutes and data so you can budget to the cent and not worry about your bill changing every month because of hidden charges and all that..

Although I love their unlimited plan, not everything is unlimited. If you spend too much? time on the internet, they'll cut off your internet and email fr overusage. I never had this problem with the other 2 straighttalk fones I've had, just this Nokia 6790. They cut me off Monday, but was reinstated with my web service tuesday. Just beware.

Am back!!!! I can't imagine why wants a cellphone company with a contract, plus headaches at the end of the month. I get? enough of those, I mean headaches. Now since I switched to Straight Talk I have savings I did not expect. I am taking yoga classes with the extra cash and is truly a blessing that I switched. There are not that many who can really compete with a deal like the straight talk deal. Straight talk is on a whole other level. I get really good rates and good service. Sure you're not going to get the rolls Royce of cell phones here but I have been very surprised with my Samsung phone and what good are all? those features if you don't have the reliable service anyway. Some drawbacks seem to be customer service and phone selection, which is admittedly a little dinky at times (although the e71 approaches nice) but other than that, the signal strength? is really clear and it truly does go from coast to coast for only 45 bucks. Hope I was helpful!

Yeah don't go to Straight Talk looking for an iPhone lol, that's why Apple is making? the big bucls, those are expensive. If you're a grad student like me and can't afford this high end stuff then Straight Talk is actually a really great compromise, don't have to worry about minutes or texts and no contracts for 45...

I've been using the Straight Talk E71 smart phone for the last month & am in love with it. My boyfriend showed me how to use this phone as a? modem by attaching it to my computer & I love the instant messaging, multiple e-mail acc.'s and free GPS. It cost me "$70.00" from Jan-July for overage minutes that I would not? have been charged had I been given the new plan for the SAME MONEY. At least it's simplified to a point where my grandmother won't be adjusting the volume while talking like she does now with her nokia flip and coming to me for help on why she can't hear anybody. the price is good but not the overseas outsourced customer service ,these people in the philippines or guatamala speak engish and are so polite but they dont seem to? communicate well,its always taken me hours to deal with any quirks or issues both myself and my girlfriend have had several problems with not being able to make calls and ive had problems with my internet browser not working ...i would rather work a few xtra hours at work than spend hours on the phone with ST's? overseas support

There's a fullscreen option you can select on the lower left (it's not visible on the video). When you do that the video plays in horizontal format with no slider visible. However, please note earlier comment about how it only seems to download part of? the videos (little over a minute).

Between the two, I would prefer the R355C -? better camera and MP3 player. The LG 290C does not have a music player. Regarding email, I would first check via your computer that you are actually able to read your other email through Yahoo or Gmail. Note, the Motorola EX124g which is available from Net10 (and Tracfone), has a email app on the phone so you wouldn't have to use the web-based email. It runs on the AT&T or T-Mobile network, though, not Verizon like the R355c or LG290c.
